Drug trafficking for 'justice' in Mexico

A Mexican drug cartel named after a medieval order of knights is winning favour among the community where it works, in the state of Michoacan.

The Knights of Templar say they are fighting a war against injustice and poverty, and they have a reputation much stronger than local police.

Meanwhile, they traffic drugs and create harsh and violent punishments for those the organisation deems to be bad for the community.

Al Jazeera's Monica Villamizar reports from the city of Apatzingan in Mexico's Michoacan province.

I dont see the reason why drugs are illegal. Is it to help save lives? There is by far more people dying in the drug trade than people dying from drugs. All the violence and US dept could all end tomorrow if they made drugs legal. Its amazing how stupid the government is by doing everything backwards. I know retards who can do a better job operating this country.

The Knights of Templar cartel is the same shit as any other one. They want to trick the stupid Mexican public by saying that they're not the bad guys, kind of like what he Sinaloa Cartel did in its native state and what the Gulf Cartel did in Tamaulipas. This is disgusting.

@OnlyLifeMatters even if i dont believe you, i hope you rly do that, cause it would be great. i cant help with money or work. i get social welfare,or however you wanna call it, cause nothing in english language is like dat. but i can only life for my own from that and cant travel. im poor! and i cant work because of major depression since my earliest childhood (no its not from drugs). but i go demonstrate,active in some groups, do petitions, life vegan, try to be a good person. stuff like dat =)
