The trouble with a lot of larpers today, your costumes are cleaner and smarter than your 21st century clothing you came in, its ye oldie time, mess it up a bit, they would not have new things, but worn and distressed things, for me thats the great loss today, its great we have so many vendors for kit, but bad, in that as its not been made from rubbish and scraps, like the early days, its made from brand 'new' material, it just doesnt look right to see 'new' things in an age when people made do.

I remember when larp first began, yes in the UK, in those early days you made everything yourself, it gave great satisfication to make something and bring it alive in this new thing called live role play.

maybe in sweden if u say "one, two or death" nobody understand what u mean and buying expensive stuffs is not the real spirit of larp...i think the best way to enjoy this activity is to make by myself my stuff..cos i can be proud, i can be satisfacted when i see my stuff in this fantasy world, what i have to say for that satisfaction is just a simply rule for let rookie know how to play..no play..live whit our alias in this fantasy world.

now ur talkin crap!I wen one time into Italia to Larp fest and damn these guys put their money on prop.U probably buy the "golden armors".In real most of larpers are like in darkage,in pretty "poor" outfits,cause they play as poor.There is so many italian i know who putted thousands of euros for larp prop.

Italian larp is some of the worst larp in the world,here in sweden we use theatre and we dont shout "one,two or death" in the "game".also we put more money on our equipment than any other coyuntry in the world.

Not completely true, given that you live in the right place (Namely Arizona), you can easily pull off either an Arabesque setting (due to tons of desert) or heavily wooded areas (Mountains, or go north into Flagstaff.
