This is a project that the Bridge Rail Foundation- www.bridgerail.org -put together a few years ago for the Out Of The Darkness Walk. They collected 1,300 shoes to represent the 1,300 bodies that have been found after jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Another untold number have not been found. These pictures made me cry when I looked at them and so I made a video for you all to appreciate.
Go ahead and take a look at the Bridge Rail Foudation website (once again, www.bridgerail.org). They're amazing people who volunteer their time to stop suicides on the Golden Gate Bridge and they could use all the help they can get. All the love in the world to them.
Thank you to Dayna Whitmer for the pictures!
wsb1925, I like your idea of the shirts, wristbands and will check out the feasability.

Compelling. Something as beautiful and useful as the San Francisco bridge has such a sad legacy.....

Well done. I walk across the bridge often when i'm in town. It is beautiful and would be more beautiful if this dark cloud could be removed. I liked the "please don't jump" montage at the end. Wouldn't that be a visible way to raise awareness. Shirts, wrist bands, etc. Save people in crisis, heal the bridge, please don't jump.
