Anand, please upload the original audio of jotugriher paakhi somewhere other than the soundclick website, and name all the participants of the original band. I could not access the site. We need to put all the credit where it is due. By the way, Rajarshi (Dasgupta), was Rajesh Bose (pritam's st. james group, and engineer) part of the band you created? And wasn't Sohini and Singh (first name ta bhuley jachchi, a lady who was ganga's girlfriend) also part of the band "jotugriher paakhi"?

Kaushik sarkar did of course sing it in the original album, with a lovely harmonica; and he's done well to re-record it once more, oddly enough and merrily too,, without any credit given to the original band/composers. Perhaps this explains why the new recording never reached any of us, even as a gesture of courtsey. karon somvoboto - pakhira ure gachhe.

Everybody, the original song was composed and recorded by the band 'Jotugriher Pakhi' from Presidency College, 1989-92 batch. It is indeed a translation of 'Billy Rose' (not literally) as credited in the original sleeve. The translation was by Rajarshi Dasgupta, and there were many others in the band like Souryo, Dipanjan, Teddy, Bunty and now famous Pritam, who deserve the credit for this song. It is dedicated to Presidency and the early days of IC
