this trial was a joke. he's gonna blame the show b/c he wasnt secure enough with his sexuality that he couldnt ignore neone making fun of him? If u can kill ur best friend because they say they like u, knowing that he is gay, then u need to be locked up! No one to blame but urself! Amedure's family won a $25 million suit because the producers didnt find out about Schmitz's history of mental illness and substance abuse? Give me a break..pretty sure Amedure knew about it. @lovelyvelyfe Good point. But the family never actually received a dime of that 25m. The plaintiff's point was that the show was negligent. It's the "But for" thing. But for the Jenny Jones Show would this murder have happened and the answer is no. I agree that Schmitz is fully responsible for the murder but I also think the show bears some responsibility for decieving Schmitz and putting him in a situation where he was in the frame of mind to commit the murder. Just my two cents.
