I totally agree. The show is about the Doctor not Matt or David. The only other Doctor that was a prettty boy was Peter Davison's Doctor. :) Looks shouldn't mark who the Doctor is. It's the writing and how the actor playing him interrupts what he is given in each story.

The first picture he looks like something plucked from Beverly Hills 90210. I think the new look, with the "Flock of Seagulls" hair (I like the 80s and I like FOS) and twead jacket & tie with rolled up trousers fits the role of The Doctor perfectly. Rememeber, the show isn't about Matt.. If it were, it would be called Dr. Smith, or Matt Smith. The show is about the character, The Doctor. Not his companions, not their romance troubles. DW has always been fantasy sci-fi.

Now, honestly, that first picture is really nice. I like the hair and he looks really sweet. That's how I picture his Doctor to look like.

I think he would make a cool Doctor, But he will need some make up to make him look better. Do something with the hair and his clothes
