I have major anxiety problems now after being locked up there for 3 months minimum as well. All because of major depression. I did NOT have insurance, nor employed, but I was not eligible for Medicaid due to all the red tape. The hospital admin/billing then illegally accessed my bank acct to see what if any assets that I had in order to let themselves be paid. I too was forced into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
@Jubjub1878 Oops, it wasnt a small altar, but rather a poured concrete slab like in a jail cell that is up off the ground. I had to play their game to get out.
I can also testify to being forcibly medicated, and NOT needing it, then they forced me to take 1200 mg of Seroquel a day...Way too much for any person. If you dont take your meds, then they take so called "priveleges" away.I saw patients rooting through the garbage looking for food, as they never give you enough to eat. This was an everyday event. The "techs" are not trained psychiatric staff, but rather glorified "babysitters" I had constant dental probs, and NO treatment.
The patients have to play the game to get out of here and the minimum stay is 3 months. The patients are also forced to clean and help with janitorial duties, and are only paid 30 cents an hour. I can testify to this in court. They are also not allowed to have more than 3 dollars on them at any time. I think they are violating patients rghts here. Prisoners in the state pen have more rights than these patients.
Also, after a family takes a patient on a "side trip" on the weekend, (if the patient ever gets that privelege) the psych techs grill and question the family extensively after bringing the patient back. They basically interrogate the family and ask them all kinds of questions about the patient, and if they were seeking drugs, etc,.They didnt have a bed for me and I was forced to sleep on a matress in a mop closet. I am NOT kidding either. Please shut this place down!
And they wonder WHY ex patients have major anxiety problems after being locked up! They force a new patient to sleep on a very hard surface when they arrive. The bed is like a small "altar", and made out of concrete with only a thin black pad. They are kept in an "isolation room" have a camera on them while sleeping. I saw this first hand. If a paient tries to get legal help, then the psych techs at USH give them an injection to shut them up. I saw this first hand as well.
The care in the other units is horrible. I know this from direct experience. The patients get way abused here. No rights, no privleges. The care is awful, and good luck trying to get out of there. Also, they bill the patient directly if they dont have insurance, and have forced many people into bankruptcy. The food is horrific, and you are always hungry. All they ever feed the patients is canned ravioli. I would have rather hung myself than have spent time there.
I'm so happy Paul is free. I cried listening to this. I know Paul well. He's got a beautiful heart and a solid mind. I can't believe they pulled all his teeth out on his birthday in August 2009, but I saw it so I have to believe it.
This is really sad. i have talkied to Paul. he is a good man. These debunkers can noe fuck off. this is here to stay and they are just going to have deal with it.
