CLICK ON 720 hd ICON.for better quality...it is not a hd clip, but it helps.
this is my material..do not use it without contacting me.
do not use it for mood clips.
i am based in london and am a self employed camera guy.
send me a message if you have any questions.
this was all shot by me on super 8 filumm stock..
this is not hd it is just a little better..than crummy you tube quality.
this is a very old showreel...most of this stuff was telecined on a 12 year old rank cintel mk3 machine in standard def..
every official kodak made film stock was used.
stick some headphones on and turn the volume up..
this is cut from a defective dvd so not the best quality.weird pixel stuff on you tube.
super 8 first arrived in 1966 and was designed as a technology for the general public..it hit it's peak in 1977.
i hope you like this it is quite long and could probably be cut down..
but as i said this is old work..
i only use kodak made film products as they at least have some quality control, still in place.

  • Very cinematic & you have a great talent but not necessarily an ear for music & so I am somewhat bored. Music matters so much. It would be nice to hear some alternative indie folk or (even classic rock and roll that is played too much). I am not anywhere near your equal as visual virtuoso but is it cruel to mention need of a "musical adviser" ? Less commercial dance pieces in particular. Great shots sorry I don't mean to take one at you but this is how I feel & just 1 opinion from a jerk.

  • @11xzxzxz

sorry for the musical offence...as jack nicolson said in that one flew over film...

    at least i tried godamit...

if kodak ever pay for the remake i will be sure to contact you for some dire straits tracks advice : )

  • @antiochus66 I would not ad dire straits and anyway one non-lover of your music taste will mean nothing or propel you to even greater fame and glory. Good luck and you don't need it.

  • @11xzxzxz

you mentioned being bored...if you read the info below the film it states that it could be cut down...

the point is this is to provide proof that this 1966 home movie format can look good..

it is a kind of long test clip..a technical exercise a refute to the piss poor usual super 8 that is seen in music videos and commercials.

it is not an essay statement in my musical taste i think it still kind of works..

  • WTF!?!? you know MAXWELL???? 5:23?

  • yes...he used to be a mate of mine...we both used to have mad hair : )

one of the best people i ever worked with a real gentlemen and a great spirit...

  • @blowaraspberry The best critics usually can't do but their opinions are vital and yours in vile. Nice snippin'. That rifle in your hand felt reassurin' but your opinions are borin' But when your first shot hit the docks I saw it comin' But I raised my rifle to my eye Never stopped to wonder why Then I saw black And my face splashed in the sky. Shelter me from your powder and the your finger. Cover me with the thought that pulled the trigger Just think of me as one you'd never figured..
  • @11xzxzxz i tell you what, when you cut a showreel that shows the expertise and talent this does, THEN you can come and show off your superior music taste like a proud little puppy. Until then stop being a wanker.

    a

The best super 8 reel ive seen, one of the best reels in general ive seen, every now and again you forget this format still exists, stuff like this makes me wanna get out there and shoot the hell out of it ! Thanks for sharing !

  • I am still amazed by the super 8mm quality. It is so sharp, and is properly exposed very well. I wonder what light meter you used, was it the internal camera. I can tell a lot of thought was used to capture the shots. It only shows what hard work, dedication, and the right knowledge can provide. One great film shot in super 8mm. I suprised this didn't get any headlines. What was the film about? It was great though.

  • Nice visual effects. It's too long and I admit I skimmed it. It's great to show what Super 8 can do and it gives a great sense of place. I have been screening way too many home movies,,,

  • GREAT looking footage and well edited! I don't think it's cut to long at all. It's refreshing to see some super 8mm posts that last longer than 2 and 1/2 minutes. lol

Pro8mm offers their own stocks cut from both Kodak and Fuji. 500 speed, No ASA and six stops of latitude looks great. Will be posting some early next month. Great work. Take care.

  • I really hate to sound like a cynic, but I have a difficult time believing this is 8mm film. The shots, especially the ones at night time came out unusually crisp and clear. Secondly, this seems to have been filmed with a wide lense, and to my knowledge, 8mm doesn't shoot wide. So, either this isn't 8mm or there is some vital piece of information I'm missing out on, and I certainly don't claim to be an expert. Care to elaborate on your process? What kind of camera did you use?

  • I can't wait to use my Super 8 camera, amazing capture my friend, the people should upload the vids with a higher quality, cheers

  • Awesome work, dude. You are an inspiration

  • Really amazing. I can't ever get really clean night time exteriors. Did you shoot with high speed (500T) negative?
