Is this game worth picking up? I am a huge Sonic fan so that's probably a stupid question, but is Sonic Generations 3DS worth getting?

@Modernsonic1 It is decent. You'll beat very quickly though...so if you like getting S-ranks than that is where the real value is at. Otherwise go with an HD version.

Nice review. Your voice could have been a bit louder and less muffled though. I am enjoying this game but i am really annoyed at the homing attack given to classic sonic and modern sonic having side scrolling levels.

@TheUnbiasedGamer Yeah, I'm not sure why the vocal pick-up was so flawed on that recording. DS reviews are always an editing nightmare.

@segashiro even though i do love the classic games i dont mind that classic sonic has the homing attack because in sonic 3d blast he had the homing attack so it is technically correct. still i have one complaint is while you were filming i dont know why you kept the 3d on knowing we couldnt see it but otherwise great job. i allready own and beaten this game (all s rank and 100 missions done) and i wanted to see what youtube thought of it.i agree that modern sonic should have 3d levels

@volkswagenginetta Actually I didn't keep the 3D on...between filming it with an HD camera and the game running in 2D - it introduced some interlacing. The "3DS" system image is a static image running underneath the resized video.

by what you've said I think this game is actually a bit lazy! They could have made it just like the console version.

Why doesn't the !!3D!!S have !!3D!! levels? The modern sonic levels should have been in 3D like on the consoles that's my only complaint

I think they scrimped out on this version. They could have given us an awesome 3d...3d sonic title, and not a side scroller.

I give it a 4/10. I had just watched a lets play on the XBOX version and I didn't know they were different. Let this be a lesson kids always reasearch a game before you buy it.

I've played both the console version and the 3DS version and IMO, the 3DS versions full experience was better to me. ESPECIALLY the final boss, the final boss for the console one was stupid compared to the 3DS' one.

Very good review, although you forgot to mention the differences in levels between the 3DS and Console versions. It's obvious if you've played both versions, but if you've never played either it might be good to know.

I was pretty psyched to play through Casino Night and Mushroom hill, neither of which were in the console versions. (There are others, but I'd hate to spoil it all. >u<)

Still though, great review, agreed with you pretty much %100.
