The engine source code and map editor are now live on the site.
The first portion of the video is a quick clip of the tile editor in 'action'. I am not actually building anything with it here, just working with multi-scrolling a duplicated layer. The editor is nearing beta, at which point I'll likely release it as a community project, along with the basic graphics engine, though the engine will likely remain in alpha until all the interfaces for it are written.
The second portion is the tile engine working with the Farseer physics engine, version 3.3. I am still learning the ropes on Farseer, as there is very little documentation available for it. This is only a proof-of-concept implementation of the physics engine, and as such, is tremendously limited. Ultimately, the total game engine package will work directly with Farseer in a seamless manner.
Playing around with the physics engine in this manner is a remarkable amount of dumb fun.
Sorry about the quality of the later clips. Including them was an afterthought.
Dungeon graphics are from the GBA release of Final Fantasy 4.
The character sprite is from Final Fantasy 3/6.
The music is Reconstruction of the Untouched by Keith303
Looking Forward for public release. :D
