"Special Permit"?... That would be the (annual) Recreation Passport ; you most likely passed right by the sign "Vehicle Permit Required for Entry"... Get it at SOS when renewing vehicle registration ($10). Tab has "P" printed on it. I think you can add that anytime. I'm over at Bald Mt. shooting quite frequently and it's required there as well.
I'm surprised you have undertaken this State Park tour without it!

@tymtwofly No a permit to film in the parks. I have the state pass I get one every year I like that they are on the plates now instead of the sticker. I have been going to the state parks sense I was born. You really didn't think I just hit 18 state parks without a recreation passport did you lol. My favorite one is South Higgins Lake the water out there is 2nd to none.

@MichiganTNP Hey Schmoo, keep making those field trips, nice overview of the Michigan State Park System.
All in jest... I thought it would be helpful to let your viewers know that an entrance fee/pass is required; I know it may be difficult to sneak into so many parks without being challanged!!!!
Now you are kidding about that "Permit to Film"?... Never heard of such a thing.
Gotta concur with ya on Higgins, it's one of our favorites in the Lower.
