The 3rd piece from my Masters Jazz Composition Recital April 25th 2011. This is my arrangment of Neal Hefti's Li'l Darlin'. This is the first arrangment I wrote as a grad student at North Texas in 2008, and the first arrangment that I recieved a Downbeat Award for, so I thought it was fitting to include it on my recital. It was originally arranged for the UNT Rep Ensemble and the recorded by the 1 O'clock Lab Band on their album Lab 2009 http://www.penders.com/p/21935400/lab-2009 .

special thanks to Steve Weist for letting me use his band

Thanks again to everyone who played, judged, instructed, recorded, came out and watched, hung out after, or made a killer poster for the event and was going to play bari sax but then got the flu at the last minute and had to stay home instead. It was a fun night.
