Good video. Don't listen to these guys who are giving you crap. He could be out selling drugs or spray painting walls, instead he's doing something productive and learning from it. Harbor Freight is one of my favorite stores too! Props for hooking this up at 12 years old.

Haters = losers.
Kid, you got more intelligence and skill in your little finger than the haters have in their whole body, so keep doing what you are doing.
I'm 37 and you have given me the idea to try this, so thanks for that

@gorgeousdzastr Sorry I forgot we are only allowed to complement people these days, we are not allowed to criticize, disagree, point out what is wrong or any oversights.........my bad

@TosonDrums You got any better ideas of getting electricity that once this is paid for with the $100 bucks? You are arguing semantics. I suppose it wouldn't be free to you, unless someone gave the entire set up to you for the cost of THEIR labor, and not your own .. would that make it "free" in your terms?
For whatever it is worth there is nothing free, but what you call free, under your own terms.
While this kid isn't paying for electricity to power these 2 lights. But you are!

Nice. Even a 12 year old understands the concept of "free electric." It's not some stupid magnet motor. Good job. Any sort of "free" concept takes some effort or money to start.

Good Job! Check out the RELAY CHARGER and hook that between the panel and the batteries. I built one of those and with a few tweaks got a 60w input to overcharge nearly 500 amp hours of batteries to overcharge!
You should join us at imhotep's lab. Great site!

Ben, nice project! my son found this, he is twelve as well, and we are going to put it in our cabin that we have been building so we can stop using oil to light the lights. Thanks for doing the work for us since we have two lights to light we can copy your setup exactly. Can we use a bigger battery for longer lighting?
thanks for all of the positive feedback guys!
