Nelson Mandela was still in jail when the first street was named after him. By the time he retired as President of South Africa, hundreds of streets, squares and schools bore his name, as did many more pop songs, books and movies. Tommorrow Nelson Mandela fondly reffered to as Madiba marks twenty years since his release from prison
We need to GIVE OURSELVES the role... how? By making movies in Africa. How about movies in Nairobi? We can do it but with corruption, how can we?

I havent watched the film yet but the reviews have been great. That Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon have been tipped for an Oscar. But away from that I would love it if African actors were given prime roles in these Hollywood blackbusters. Slumdog millionaire showed what local talent can do, sometimes you do not need Will Smith or Halle Berry to make it huge box office smath hit.

well the movie aint abt Mandela but more about SA race relations. The significant of the victorious all white SA national team in the 1995 world cup. It spoke alot when he wore that number 9 shirt of a white captain.

They couldn't have cast a better actor than Freeman. And from the short preview i can tell that he'll nail the accent pretty well for an American. Can't wait to watch this movie.
