@baxtrom Iam sorry,Since that commentary ive read up on it and it's true.As the development stage of viggen was the same time as the nuclear development they needed a plane that could carry nukes.

@naaruu111 There were plans for 37 Viggen to carry tactical nuclear weapons. See the thesis "Med invasionen i sikte" (page 41, in Swedish)

Fun to see our old Danish SAAB Draken jets still are going strong 20 YEARS after retiring from Danish Airforce. When NTPS are finished using the 6 Draken`s we are getting them back again ;-)

@skogsstjarnan The viggen wasent supposed 2 carry nukes.It was choosen instead of nukes.They did research about it and came up with that they needed a new plane instead.

@hotelvictor When Draken was designed were there still plans on having a Nuke program i Sweden. Even the Viggen was designed to carry tactical nukes. The program was disbanded in 1972. And no, it´s not a joke.
