Most of the world leaders/foreign writers/authors like John Pilger did or do not know much about Hanoi Leaders' dirty-secret plans and poison words that were hidden in the face of the world and public. The past and present Hanoi leaders are so cunning to have kicked the French Colonialism/Colonialists, the Japanese and American imperialists out of its country by its tactful-political stratagems...Etc. John Pilger calls Vietnamese armies "Heroes", who knew nothing how to read Khmer History in Khmer, never describe the Past and Present Endless Unforgotten Painful Tragedies of Khmer people at all. He doesn't even know how many groups of Khmer Rouge? And which group of Khmer Rouge were real Khmers?

On October 2, 1977 at a news conference in Beijing, Pol Pot said that the evacuation of millions of Cambodian from the cities to the countryside was to break up an "enemy spy organization". He said the evacuation decision had been made three months before the end of the war. On January 3, 1978 the Khmer Rouge again refused to negotiate peace with Vietnam until all Vietnamese troops had withdrawn from Cambodian territory. About 60,000 Vietnamese troops were in Cambodia at the time.

There are millions of Cambodians who lost their immediate family members and loved ones. The Yuon Angkar Leur/Cap Tren's Terror Regime not only traumatized millions of Cambodians' psychological function but it painfully created a permanent scare in every Cambodian citizens. We lost so much. The greatest lost of all were those whose resources and capacities to advance our social development. However, the essence of this testimony is not seeking sympathetic sentiments. It is a reminder of what happened to our society in the last 20 years. The Yuon Angkar Leur/Cap Tren legacy should not be neglected or overlooked because it was the past. It should be a monumental lesson for our future generation. Such an atrocity should never be allowed to reoccur. But it should never be forgotten. In the memory of those who endured and survived through the Cambodian Holocaust.

Most scholarship on the rise of the Khmer Rouge conforms to a state-centered framework. Scholars usually focus on events in recent Cambodian history and society, or on the impact of the Vietnam War, to explain one of the most murderous regimes in modern history. Despite excellent research and thoughtful explanations, questions remain unanswered. Nevertheless, within the already existing scholarship on Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge period, there exists ample evidence for the idea that the rise of the Khmer Rouge resulted from the complex interaction of global and regional events of the 1960s and 1970s with localized socio-political conditions.

However, the ideological argument does not explain how the Khmer Rouge were able to gain power. It implies that they were a tiny, isolated group with no mass appeal who reaped extraordinary benefits from a power vacuum and aid from China and North Vietnam. In fact, there is evidence to the contrary of indigenous peasant support. Moreover, as Ben Kiernan and Craig Etcheson have argued, other than in a coup d'etat, which was not what took place in 1975, it seems unlikely that a cell with no support could win a civil war, control the countryside, and carry out a revolution.

At the time After the Cataclysm was written, several scholars did suggest that the Khmer Rouge never really exercised complete control throughout the country; according to this view, directives provided by the central authority in Phnom Penh were perverted by local commanders bent on settling old scores. Ben Kiernan was originally one of the proponents of this theory. If socio-cultural factors were mostly responsible, then why did such a revolution happen when it did? To what extent were cultural factors shared? What about the 20% non-Khmer in Cambodia?

What about the 20% non-Khmer in Cambodia? In fact, 20% non-Khmer are Yuon citizens, as I already mentioned, who used to live in Cambodia during the French colonial period, could read, speak and write Khmer fluently, after they finished their studies in Cambodian universities and colleges/high schools, to be secretly impostors as the leaders of the super-illiterate-ignorant Khmer Rouge soldiers who are misled, or wrongly condemned by the people in the outside world and their own Khmer people. Because the world and Cambodians can only view one side of the Khmer Rouge's atrocity, but they all never use their brain/logic to think thoroughly that there are many Yuon themselves used to live in Cambodia still working for their masters in Hanoi waiting for a right time to come and take that golden opportunity to kill all Cambodians while we-Cambodian victims were in chaotic situation of 17th April 1975.

  • Is this stupid narrator for real? How can he, in this day and age, say that there were no North VN base camps in Cambodia? It's a known fact that Sihanouk had given carte blanche to the NVN commies to roam throughout Cambodia since the early stages of the VN war. During the 1971 intrusion into Cambodia, South VN and US forces had uncovered thousands of NVN's base camps and caches of supplies/weapons. The videos by this guy are valuable for their pictures, but the narratives are badly distorted.

  • & this is what makes me so mad. an innocent, thriving, growing civilization such as cambodia being bombed for no apparent reason at all. imagine what cambodia would be like now without all those bombings and without the khmer rouge = possibly the wealthiest country in southeast asia, plus our divine temples and our enriched culture.

  • All the Khmer leaders should all die!

They made so much people suffer, my family and their friends died because... of them. My greatgrandmother died becuse of them! Khmer Rouge was the worst camp ever, they think Anne Frank suffered, Cambodian worked 16-18 hours a day with nothing. Family members were seperated to live in the forest!

  • KHMER PRIDE

  • Pol-pot killed all intellectual Khmer. No wonder why the people who named the title of this video is SO DUMB

  • @AhmekKhmer - I don't think that was Pilger's purpose. I believe it's more like you are an idiot. The 2 main parties responsible for turning a beautiful country into a hellish place on earth were the Communist North Vietnamese and the Khmer Rouge of Pol Pot. Unfortunately, Sihanouk played an important role in the demise of Cambodia as well. No american bombs can equate the killing field that was perpetrated on the land by the Khmer Rouge. Denying this fact, really makes you a year zero specimen

  • I would say that Ho is a War creator!!! Pol pot had transformed by the Vietcong-black uniform, and the Vietcong war created by Ho. It seemed, Ho planed to erase Kampuchea people and dominate INDOCHINA against China.

  • The United States sent 25,000 troops to Cambodia and South of Vietnam also sent 40,000 troops to Cambodia, and B-52 dropped thousands tons of bombs just because of Vietcong.

  • Before 1970, Kampuchea is a freedom country and Kampuchea people lived in prosperity. However, Ho took advantage of King Sihanouk to send his troops and supplies through the Cambodia's land to the South. Ho also sent thousands of Vietcong to all over places in Cambodia. Finally, there were several parties flare up such as Lon Nol, Pol Pot etc and killed each other just because of Vietcong.

  • After watched this horrible - shockable film I cannot stop my tears. It kept float on my cheeks just liked pouring the water. I personally wish God if there is one on this earth, if yes, please have mercy on us. May God stop the blood sheders' stop having the cruelness idea to murder our own people!

  • I don't think that the title is right!
