@Cuvac - Thanks for the information. I just love the bigger breeds and thought my pyr looked very similar to the Kuvasz. Both beautiful breeds.

yes like all the old mountain dogs are related, kuvasz, maremma, cuvac, and tatra are all white mountaindogs.

Maintask: GUARD. :)

Old world (europe / asia) is packed with these kind of dogs, sarplaninac in balkan, Kangal in Turkey, Bucovina shepherd in Rumania, ovcharka in central asia, untill the Tibetan Mastiff.. in Tibet.. ;)

All lazy bastards but can come into action in the blink of an eye...

Looks like the Kuvasz is a larger breed than the Pyr.

I have a Pyr.  Just discovered the Kuvasz - very striking dog. Does anyone know if the Pyr and Kuvasz have similar traits, ancestors etc. The two breeds are very similar in appearance. thanks
