"Six Minutes of Terror"

Six Minutes of Terror describes in detail the extremely complex Mars entry, descent and landing for MER (Mars Exploration Rover). I directed, shot and edited this video as well as created the music. The animation was done by Dan Mass. This video won me the NASA 'Videographer of the Year' award for 2003.

This is such a great video. I had to watch it again after seeing the curiosity '7 minutes of terror'. The whole EDL sequence is such genius. It makes me want to cry with joy.

WOW! That is so cool! You did a great job on the video! It was amazing to me to think how we can hurl something across space and then figure out how to get it from those crazy speeds down to a rolling, tumbling, air-bag surrounded rover sitting on the surface of another planet! That is just crazy!!
