FOR BEST VIEWING: USE SMALLER SCREEN FORMAT. A newsreel, circa 1928. Miss "B" reached the height of popularity in 1927, when a New York jazz band called "The Bird-dog Five", recorded a novelty hit called "Ain't Miss"B" Heaven"; for Okay Records, which sold thousands of copies. In that year alone, at least six short films were made of her dance routines, including rare footage of her attempt at ballet, which some believe was the nail in the coffin of an already faltering career...

  • !!! This IS rare! The reel itself may be the only existing clip produced by the exceedingly short lived Paté Moving Picture News Service (1928-1928). In fact it's believed to be the ONLY clip they every produced. Little is known of them, though it is found in many sources indicated by an asterisk and no text...often in French mysteriously enough. The "studio" was thought to be some random sidewalk cafe table. Thanks for posting!

  • Flightless AND Featherless...but nice footwork.

  • wow, that was pretty cool lol.
