Here's a brief demo of the excellent Graptech GHOST Piezo system installed in my PRS CE 24.

The piezo signal is running into a cheap mixing desk with a little bit of reverb and no EQ into Garageband with no effects added. The magnetic signal is running into an Orange Rockerverb 50 mic'd with an AKG vocal mic.

The idea behind this video is to demonstrate the acoustic sound of the GHOST system through a PA rather than a guitar amp, and how a live rig would work.

I didn't install a volume pot for the piezo system as I didn't want to interfere with the controls on the PRS, I can control the piezo volume with a volume pedal between the guitar and the mixing desk.

The guitar used is a PRS CE24 with a mahogany body (no maple top) and maple neck and rosewood board. This is a solidbody guitar not a hollowbody piezo PRS. You can install this GHOST piezo system on any trem equipped electric guitar.

The Seymour Duncan triple shot works really well - it's not as good as the original 3 way switch as it's physically harder to activate as the switches are tiny, but I wanted to try it out before drilling a hole in the top of my guitar. If want a really stealthy install this is the best way I could think of.

Anyway I hope it helps :D

  • can i get this say on a ibanez S ???

  • @jpjdo1212 - it's a PRS CE24, about 12 times thicker than an Ibanez S :D

  • @Moltisanti so thats a no? i was asking about the piezo

  • @jpjdo1212 - sorry i totally mis-read your post! look on the graphtech site and see if they do a Floyd Rose version

  • so you have your Acoustic sound go directly to the mixer and have your normal guitar sound go to amp and trough the microphone to the mixer?

    and mixer to computer? :P

  • @punkfunc - yep

  • 6:40 Opeth in a PRS = win. Nice tone mate

  • Do you have the acousti-phonic preamp installed as well?

  • I'm amazed that with the switches so close to the humbuckers there isn't any added noise.

  • i would like to see a demo of the two signals mixed. You can send them both out at the same time with either the mono or stereo setup. It would be good to see a demo of both.

  • and the computer is totaly necesari? or the piezo can work alone with the guitar?

  • @Moltisanti Haha :) its fine thanks for your help :)

  • @Moltisanti hahaha but seriously, you do sound like him. Nice accent too..

I'm currently reviewing the Graptech see whether its worth buying.. =)
