Roman the Great Dane aged 16 months.

This is a time line of his life from eleven weeks to current. Roman's graciousness, gentle nature, and sheer exuberance remind me daily how to live life to the fullest.

  • Beatiful video, if you hadn't butchered his ears.

  • @gururaven Your powers of observation astound me. As i have previously explained I did not choose to crop his ears it was done so by the breeder before I got him. In short, refrain from declaring that I butchered his ears. Perhaps you should follow the conversation next time before you speak, if you had not just jumped right on in you would know that I didn't do it or even request that it be done. Opinions are good to have but just so you know a sarcastic backhanded compliment is unbecoming.

  • Gorgeous Dane, his flippy tips are cute, when you posted, did you bridge his ears? Cropping and Docking will always be debated, but when it all comes down to it, its up to the owners. I have a Doberman, and he was c/d, he turned out fine :)

  • @nooneinparticular100 Thank you. I did post and brace his ears as the Vet and his breeder instructed.

  • OMFG, GET OFF THEIR FUCKING CASE, as long as the dog is in a safe house hold and is loved, just shut the fuck up. seriously. the dog looks amazingly healthy and in great shape. just leave it the fuck alone. we as people are ignorant for judging other people for stupid shit like that. the dog is safe, loved and in shape. end of story

  • Can anyone explain to me why they had to keep putting bandages on his ears? I know it's needed at first but it seemed to come on and off for several months, I'm not judging, just curious?

  • You can obviously tell by looking at the fine specimen in the video you love your dog. He is beautiful! We have a solid black female just as impressive. The love that comes out in your video made me cry because not many people who own this type of breed can care for them in the wonderful environment you have given Roman. Beautiful, awesome looking dog!

  • i am in love with Roman he's gorgeous!!! I myself have a Dane/Rottie mix he's the biggest baby ever :)

Oh, and people. At least the owner decided to maintain the ear instead of just leaving them. Once ears are cut, if they aren't correctly taken care of, dogs ears end up getting massivley infected, ive seen it happen.

  • These pictures are pretty. Mine will be blue Mantel or Black or pure blue. There are colors nice in the mother. Any tips for training?

  • Im getting a Great dane too!

  • @Clockiller

Actually I have no idea where you are coming from "genetically mutate a dog" I never stated this, I'm actually a pro mixed breed accident kind of dog lover, not a fan of pure breeds at all there are so many accidents in the world that are looking for a loving home.

I would never alter a dog, never have, never will I love them the way they are, take a look at my channel we just lost our Spike he was a Dane/Rotti cross, an accident.

We don't need to breed dogs....

  • I love the little girl's face.... she just knows the licking is on its way..lol

  • roman is BEAUTIFUL!

  • @moviematcanada

Sooo, it's okay for humans to genetically mutate dogs for no other point but to produce a certain breed preference, but it's not okay to crop ears?

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Take just a moment and really look at what you are complaining about.

With that being said, I think the owner of this beautiful breed is very lucky to have such a great looking dog, no matter the shape in ears.
