@OneTakeJesus On the contrary I know my last sentence is NOT way off. But then, everybody has their own opinion, don't you think?
-
@Wiiman895 Kevin left, and they still played Space Dye Vest. It happened to be a fuckload of years later, but they still did. They might find a reason to play it.

@kigawman That last sentence is way off and you know it... Just, not even close.

@kigawman I'm glad you feel this way, I became a DT fan with one of their "new" albums, which I still like like, but when i got all of their albums, I really liked Images & Words and Metropolis pt.2 the best.

@FearsEnd perhaps not
-
@FearsEnd Too bad it's never been played live and probably won't because of Portnoy leaving.....

Images and Words and Awake forever!!! Of course I love their newer stuff too but those 2 albums are the best!

this is something so big and great O_O

I haven't like much of their new material. I think their only commendable album made with Jordan Rudess is, and may have been the last, was "Scenes From A Memory". I find that a lot of the songs are undeniably similar especially when you examine the song formats on their latest albums.
Learning To Live is my favorite Dream Theater song. I am excited about BC&SL. Perhaps The Best Of Times will be another classic like this song.

@justinavit Its good that you as a DT fan noticed this. For the last 10 years after Metropolis pt.2, I noticed a shift in attitude and musical direction from the band. That hence produced many of their material as aggressive and redundant in composition. I will always like the heydays from their first 5 albums w/ 1 EP. Those days were their melodic, experimental, and very progressive tones. Sadly, they succumbed to a more mainstream and commercialized metal band today.
