I think your rice is perfect!! I made this last night and my family loved it! My best friend in the entire world is Mexican, and her family puts peas in it too! She said mine was really good, I had to take her a bowl. Thaks for posting this recipe. :)

For me, once the rice is almost browned I add chopped red and white onion and chopped green and red peppers, then I add the stock and tomatoes sauce and start to simmer, then on the side I cooked 1/2 pound of bacon to crisp and cook up a couple of pounds of lean ground beef, when the rice is almost done I stir the bacon and the ground beef in, let it simmer with the lid on for another 5 minutes, then let it sit for 20 minutes and then stir and serve with a side of salsa, tortilla chips and beer!

@mysweeteventhorizon MMMM that sound delicious. That definitely is a main dish rather than a side dish. You should make a video of yourself making it.

Thank you for sharing your recipe... I make arroz all of the time, but I do it a little different. But Its all still the same at the same time... What most people dont understand is that you have to brown the rice first, thats the secret to making PROPER arroz....

@Cowboylikeme You got that right. The toasting of the rice is the secret.
