  • where could I find the opening lyrics? can't seem to find them online anywhere since dmb changes them everytime but I like this version

  • @gvonderau i think its from listener supported, or i heard it somewhere at a show or made some of it up as i went along, i actually dont remember...I think its from Listener supported

  • Hey I had a quick question that hopefully you, or someone else here can answer for me. I have never owned an amp for any of my acoustics. I was curious what you use for one? And is the "Dave sound" something that you can get out of any decent amp without spending a ton of money? The ideal sound for me s the studio version of so much to say on the crash album. Thanks man and great job on all the vids

  • @bwatteful Im just using a tube pre amp into my board.....No acoustic amp

  • I think I know what MDon04 is talking about....I guess MDon04 think you're a bit off with respect to how Dave sings the song in the Radio City version with Tim Reynolds

MDon04....who gives a flying fuck ?!? If you're going to criticize then you do a better job....it's called a COVER for a reason

  • @obscurusvita lol, a lot of people forget that...lol well said

  • you're really good, but your only problem is that you can't sing the words outside the beat of the song. you awkwardly string out the words to go along with the chords you're playing, which is not how dave sings it

  • if you are referring to the opening verse, Dave wrote it. It's a popular older version of this song.

  • is that daves custom 914ce or just a 914ce?

  • @whobludaphot yeah the real lyrics are - so we're leaving Friends of mine brothers and sisters Hoping that in times of trouble And that we can lean a bit more But lately i swear nightmare dreams are welling in me And this ship is troubled all because this ship we're on is sinking

  • Great fucking cover.

  • @MDon04 You couldn't be more wrong, haha.

  • dmbalmanac has all the different openings for two step

  • @bwatteful The "Dave" sound comes from a sloppy mixture of half palm muting and half not, which based on the style of playing Dave uses I'm sure he started off doing by accident and now it's just muscle memory. You'll notice he doesn't do it on Big Whiskey.

  • @whobludaphot thanks! I found the lyrics.

  • A cover doesn't have to be sung exactly as the original singer. Look at how Dave covers Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower." Everyone has his or her style. Your version has a soothing sound to it.
