In this video, I play a half time shuffle on the drums similar to what Bernard Purdie and Jeff Porcaro play. I also attempted to play a simple bass line as well. I've only been playing bass for about a week, so its rather embarrassing to post this video, but I'm going to put it up anyways. I know its horrible, and I can't even keep in time, but hey! I put the effort in. I hope you at least enjoy the drumming :D

  • you are a groovy drummer and a good bassplayer but this isnt a half time shuffle, its half time but not in triplets feel..

  • @carcassgrindcorpsesc I'm counting these as 8th note triplets, which puts the backbeat on the 3, which makes it half time and a shuffle ;) Thanks for the kind words!

  • love that ride what is it pls?

  • @MADROCKS212 Me too! Its a 22" K custom dry complex ride, beautiful pie!

  • You've got a pretty original set up. I'm digging it.

What kind of cymbal is clamped beneath your Sabian?

Also, does your ride have rivets or something around the edge?

  • @milesmetkodrums27 Thanks man! Thats a Paiste PST3 18" China Ozone underneath the AAX-plosion crash, and the ride does not have rivets, those are just deep hammering marks, thats part of what makes it sound so tasty :D

  • Yeah, timing is a little off at times. Not by much, but still moves a little. Not a bad groove though (Expect I hate the sound of bass with a pick, but I played with a pick when I was younger too) and kudos to @therevdrummeravenged for being able to hear that subtle of a time shift.

  • @therevdrummeravenged This IS on tempo, so shut the fuck up you little shit. You obviously haven't a clue about music.

  • @therevdrummeravenged Everything is on tempo, and the bass line is not dissonant. Learn your facts you little shit.

  • @skangmox oh anf double dose for a differnet shuffle

  • nice groove for a young lad! very refreshing. Check out my band junkbelly doin time

  • @c0d3x001 dude i mean tempo !

  • @therevdrummeravenged i do not see your problem... i think lot's off the offbeats are exactly what they're supposed to be... and how do you know what the right tune for the bassline is? sounds good to me so where is the problem... overall this sounded really great actually

  • @c0d3x001 dude the bass line is stupid out of tune and off beat the drums are off beat also and this is not tasty stuff MAN OFF BEAT

  • @therevdrummeravenged your comment sucks and it's not even close to be true... this is tasty stuff ... both the bass and the drums so i'm guessing either you don't play instruments or you're so ignorant to believe that the more noise you make the better musician you are
