The city now known as Cahokia was the largest in North America until 1800, with as many residents in 1200 as London. It's largest pyramid, though built of earth, had a base larger than the Great Pyramid at Giza.
@fliegeroh Maybe the point both of you are making is that you can't blame a entire culture or religion for the action of their corrupt elite...No offence but puting Jesus on a cross while he suffers, dies and shades blood is humun sacrifice.
@TheNativeHistorian - Canabalism among the upper class Christians? Please give me a source book or website for that and I'll read it and get back to you. I find it very hard to believe that the Christ cult would allow human sacrafice. The "body and blood of Christ" consumed during the ritual of the Mass was totally symbolic. Also please give me your sources of who is using canabilism in America today?
@fliegeroh Human Sacrifice was found in Europe among the Upper Class of the Celtics, Christians, Phoenicians and Romans...There are still people who use Human Sacrifice and Canibalism in America today...There are no extermism found in Native Americans today...The Upper Class of the Aztecs were Extremist and oppressors, but not the Aztec People.
Drought and the Spanish interference of Native American Trade disrupted the Cahokian empire and this led to their collapse...Yes, some people resorted to canibalism during famine...The European settlers also resorted to canibalism when they starved...Tribes in the Rocky Mountians found a Man who had eaten his family after they died, this happend alot when settlers moved west.
@fliegeroh There was no human sacrifices at cahokia...Scientist have found some skeletal remains that had cuts and drills in the skulls and bones, they had surgery and used syringes do drain fluid build up...They had tools to drill into bone, they were Docters who was studying human biology...Yes, the Cahokians had calenders, astronomy, math, conscepts of zero, advanced agriculture, There was no Sun God, they believed in one Creator and with many Messiahs.
Reminds me of Tenochtilan. I'll bet there was worship of the sun and similar gods of the Aztecs. There was probably human sacrifice as part of their rituals. The evidence of canibalism here may have just been due to famine and not a regular ritual.

Awesome. I really want to go there. It's interesting to see the "then and now" comparisons. Layers of history...
Nice use of "Teardrop", too.
