So I'm making a basket, but not the kind you'd buy at a craft show. I was taught to make these by a true master, Tom Crede. Well actually I watched Tom and learnt to make them on my own. But Tom was a good friend and a good soul. Tom made hundreds of these over his lifetime and gave them all away. I have another two weeks in making these beyond what people selling them do. I have several baskets that I make, all of which focus on a different discipline of focus. This is the carved basket, which is probably the most insane of them all. The milling vice, although ususally used by machinists is a pretty interesting piece. I have it mounted on my drill press. I will start here. My other secrets for preparing the wood will remain just that.
