  • Thornless Mexican lime have a much stronger flavor than Bearss Seedless lime or Key lime and adds a lot more zest to drinks and food. Key lime is for sweet cooking or semi sweet cooking.

Bearss Seesless lime and Persian Lime are for those people who need to be more sensitive to the citrus acid, with Persian Lime or Sweet Lime being the best for those who want or NEED a very low acid lime but enjoy the flavor of citrus.

  • @gp391 There are hundreds in Mexican Cuisine for which Mexican lime is used. It will wake up the dullest salsa, marinate and tenderize meat for carne asada, and most commonly used in traditional guacamole.

  • @kmq76 Mexican lime marinated grilled chicken uses Mexican lime. It's that recipe with Mexican lime that the franchise restaurant, "Pollo Loco" uses to prepare their marinade (other citrus does not hold up their flavor as much as Mexican lime). Mexican lime is also used to "cook" raw fish in their traditional recipe called "Ceviche" that people will have with tortilla chips at parties.

  • At Xmas, a friend invited us to his Christmas party. I had never had such a great tasting margarita in my life! I had to know how he prepared them. He told me that although he used the mix and regular tequila, his secret ingredient was a lime from his Mexican lime tree and turned his plain margaritas into a full blown Fiesta! I bought a Mexican lime tree and planted it in my garden, yesterday Sept. 11, 2011. I am now searching for best growing tips. Can't wait for my first harvest.

  • are they juicy and good for limeade? or are they only good for beer?
