Three mornings before starting at URM fulltime in 2010, I was out on a Friday taking care of some videos locally. First thing I stopped by the Narrabeen units area and caught one of the Sidepaks tackling the first load of garbage along a couple of main streets.

Seven of these trucks were taken from Sutherland council and were all used fulltime when the contract started. These days there are only a couple left on the road with their dedicated runs, the others are either spares or haven been taken off the road. Unfortunately, by the time we got them, the trucks had already been used very well under the Sutherland operations. Upon new ownership the poor side loaders became neglected and started to fall apart, now they're over 7 years old and have lived the bulk of their lifetime.

This is the second short residential series from Warringah, the first involving MJ MkIV truck 102, with this one based on the Sidepaks. This action is brought to you by truck 148 and there's also footage of another two trucks collecting the bottles and paper recycling. Cheers to the driver, hope you guys enjoy the action.

  • bloody awesome footage mate how many bins can these truck load ?

  • @Binboy112 Pretty much the average 1000 or so when we're talking 80Ls and 120Ls, depends on the material you're collecting but.

  • Not a whole lot of recycling going on in that first clip haha The grippers on this truck are pretty badly bent up by the looks of it, wonder if these tight working conditions are when that happened. Was the arm acting up around 5:08? seemed all over the place. Seemed a bit slower than normal, side effects of being neglected I suppose. Nice video!

  • @3amrepmike3 Yeh some units are hopeless with recycling, sometimes I wonder if there's much point having seperate bins at some properties! All the grabbers are pretty screwed up on these trucks, just a lot of wear and tear you know... also a result of that business around 5:08 - the grabbers open up all floppy; one might move and there might be a delay before the other side moves. Cheers.
