I don't think the pastor helped his own case here. He was very uncooperative from the beginning. True the police are being a bit heavy handed but this guy is not helping things at all

The whole thing about the dog was just to get the guys out of the car, for the real purpose of search the person and also find out who they are since they have refused to show their ID. Once out of the car, they can legally do the search and identify the person because it becomes a safety issue, and that WILL be their excuse. They can't do that with the guys in the car since they will need a warrant, and yeah, search warrant applies to persons too as long as they inside the property.
