@jeremyrom I listen to this and it brings tears to my eyes. Then I go listen to Martha Argerich where she sound like she is in a hurry to get through it.
This is played very well. When I went to practice my instructor directed me to play as she has done here. The idea is that of an aproaching storm that passes over and then it fades away. The calm before the storm and then the tranquilty of quiet and calm afterwords.
Seems kinda light on life(a little dry). I find Martha Argerich plays a more touching performance. Half way down the recommended videos bar on the right.
I'm just discovering this brilliant young lady- so delicate, and yet so much power- the piece is served beautifully and yet the pianists' imprint is completely identifiable-awesome! p60
This is a good version, but to me she plays it too slowly and the theme drags too often. Ashkenazy has it perfected I reckon - see the preludes 13-15 video.

No, she's got it just right . For a patriotic Pole, at least.

I too an a huge Grimaud fan. Along with Argerich one of the greatest of living pianists. But I will have to agree that she played this way too slow.
