@OhStylo Ironically this rifle is older than all three you listed.

@gbafreak100 Steady position, sight picture, breathing, trigger squeeze. I was shooting at 100 yard targets, there's a bit more to it than just loading the rifle and yanking the trigger.

Hopefully I can get one of these soon. A store I usually buy from has one that I'm going to check out next week. I'm told this one is an import 1940 dated SVT. Not sure if it is a refurb yet, because all parts but the mag match, and the bolt is blued (plumb? not sure). No electro-penciling anywhere but the receiver that tells the importer. It has the cleaning rod and a sling. 6 cut compensator and slim SVT stock, not later AVT with full auto cut. Hopefully it shoots and gets the groupings you s

@DrakeGmbH Soviet Budget engineering versus "We have boatloads of money and no enemies pressing production times" as well as "We have lots of money and a world to try and take over" :P Of course the SVT's trigger pull won't be quite as "nice" as the aforementioned...

I love this gun, i will buy SVT40, SKS and Mosin Nagant. then a pps50 IN 22LR,
And a cz 858. wow thats like $2,300. meh its for fun.
You don't shoot with the first pad, try wrapping around to the second and squeezing slowly you'll see the improvement on paper.

@juero63 This goes against all the marksmanship instruction I've received. It's been working for me, I'll stick with it. The only time I've found it's not advisable is when shooting a DA pistol with a heavy pull. At these times I find it's best to put the first joint on the trigger.

@DrakeGmbH i don't think this riffle has a trigger stop. we in switzerland shoot 300 yards with our sig550 and in the military we're being thought that you mustn't "tear" the shot by just pulling. it's more like a "pressing-a-lemon" motion. you should not know when the shot is going off. however i don't think its that much of a problem shooting at lower ranges. cheers!

@2mnyshp I've shot 300 meter targets with an M16A2, the trigger on an SVT-40 is nothing like an M16 or a SIG-550 (I've had trigger time with a StG.90 as well). Those tend to have a light takeup and a smooth release during the second stage. The SVT-40 has a lot of slack and a hard pull that stacks at the end. Perhaps the angle of this video makes it look worse, my groups were about 1.5-2" at 100 yards, I wasn't just yanking the hell out of the trigger as some comments insinuate.

Milking the trigger

@juero63 Pulling straight to the rear with the first pad of the finger is 'milking' now?
