Mr. Bowler is accurate and powerful -- obviously a serious student and practicioner of contrabass. Fantastic support.

Mr. Carter seems to have some wonderful Ed Bickert in his blood!

I studied with Joe for a couple of years at the Hartford Conservatory. What a great player. Cecil and Phil are great too. Thanks for posting this clip.

This track came from a tv show I did in the 80's called Jazz Profiles. I hosted and produced the program. The Cecil Payne show was one of the best. It was a half hour with three tunes and two interview segments. Bob Lasprogato

Jerome Kern's All The Things You Are is a must for all jazz muscians. Here it lies... lightly disguised as Prince Albert... in the hands of master baritone saxophonist Cecil Payne. Just listen to his delicate presentation of the theme... his gentle musical story telling over the not-too-simple changes... mostly in double tempo. Great! Truly great!
