The Arax river marks the border between Turkey and Armenia. The villages of Halikisla and Bagaran have existed opposite each other for 100 years. During all that time the border between them has been closed.

  • @livingdream1234 NATO has nothing to do with this. Armenians' national claims in Anatolia were always based on a pretense supported by racist arguments that the west was inclined to accept about 100 years ago. Not now. Armenians were a minority. You can not establish a state defined by ethnicity if you are a minority- regardless of your religion or claimed superiority in culture. The only way it can be done is through apartheid or demographic terrorism- the Turks weren't stupid

  • @livingdream1234 Racism? Regardless of the interpretation of the Atom bomb attack on Japan this video is harfly "racist". What you interpret as "racist" is any contradiction of the Armenian view point which is driven by nationalistic and frequently racist ideas. You don't need to "go" there because you arrived long ago.

  • @livingdream1234 This is simply not true. Turks have been in this region for a thousand years. This gives them the right of tenure. They did not "displace" since they came to a region that did not have the population densities that are there now; essentially they filled in the gaps. Turks essentially took political power from the rulers which in this case was Byzantine. Erevan was Persian. This idea od displacement in the distant past is sophistry.

  • @livingdream1234 "You Turks" find every opportunity to attack Armenians.....? As a non Turk I was struck by the fact that when I looked at even an inocuous YT video that covered the topic of Turkey there was always a vile and bigoted posting by an Armenian. Wherever you go bigoted mythologised nastiness.. Your observation that there were Armenians in eastern Turkey until 1915 does not answer the observation that there were Muslims in the "Armenian Oblast" in 1800s but not now

  • @livingdream1234 Lier? Well, according to Russian statistics of 1829 (when they had just taken the territory from Persia) more than 80% of the population was Muslim- mostly Turkic. Now, Arm,enia is one of the most ethnically homogenous countries on the planet.....and this in a reagion of the world that has always been noted for its huge ethnic diversity.

  • @outsidelight1 And racism. Since that idiot in the video is talking about atom bomb dropped on Japan. His analogy is two faced stupidity. first of all Japan was the violator, so they had to be stopped. Turks in WWI are just like the Japanes in WWII. So, you see how he is taking the side of the perpetrator in WWII? Japanes and turkish are Alteic people, for the sake of argument I could say they are prone to being racists. right? But, I won't go there.

  • @outsidelight1 You call that generosity? You displaced large portions of Armenian populations during WWI. Since the ottoman rule you exploited us, used us, took our boys to finght in your janissary armies, took our girls to become your sultan's wives. Opening the boarder is below your just responsibilities. Trust me...

  • @outsidelight1 80% or 20% doesn't really matter much. Every percent of that is a displacement of Armenians by the conquring turkics or their kurdish muslim population.

You don't want to give that land back because U.S. and Nato pays turkey a lot of money to lease it to use for military base purposes. This clearly is the reason for turkey being able to blackmail west on the Armenian turkish issue. Lier

  • @outsidelight1 It is interesting that you turks find every opportunity to attack Armenians in every ground.80% muslim maybe, but on Armenian lands of course. But, just know this you little rat who is looking for every hole for your fake points accross.I am not going to use polite coments to advertize my facts like you do regarding your lies, but it was until the end of 19th century that Armenians used to live up to the middle of turkey and today there are decendants of forceful turkishified ones.

  • Watching this one can see the problem. There is greater generosity of spirit on the Turkish side than the Armenian. The Armenian talks of returning to "his" land as a landowner, not a tourist. He seems to forget that once the area of the Armenian Republic was (as recently as 1828) over 80% Muslim and Turkic. Where are these people now? Armenia is one of the most ethnically homogenous states on earth. Somewhere, "genocide" figures and facts simply aren't adding up. Facts need to replace Myth
