Bruce Tabb, flute, and Nathalie Fortin, piano, performed Joueurs de flûte by Albert Roussel at the Knight Library, February 27, 2009.

Each movement of the piece is fashioned after a flute player from literature. The first three movements are: Pan (the half-goat Greek god of shepherds and other things), Tityre (one of the shepherds in Virgil's Bucolica), and Krishna (the Hindu God). Krishna's section employs a Hindu mode called "Shri". The fourth and final movement as performed by these musicians is recorded in a separate video on my channel (linked as a response to this one).
