@TheeNameIsBrandon in a prison, Officers give pregnant females a choice to have their children, Because a child needs her son/daughter. And for the fact that it prevents that inmate from fighting its not just her who gets "special" treatment. Every female that gets in that program gets the same thing.

This is so sad - there are so many decent couples that would love to adopt that baby and give it a decent chance at life. What sort of chance does that poor kid have?

@TheeNameIsBrandon Prison guards routinely rape prisoners, both male and female. It's a time-honored institutional tradition, and even though it's technically illegal, prisoners are dehumanized, and there's basically no recourse to which they can avail themselves when the guards rape them.
Many female prisoners become impregnated by these criminals with badges.

Imagine what it'd be like when that child grows up, knowing he/she was raised in a prison. (I'm not saying this to be funny or anything).
Still, provided the inmate is a responsible mother and will actually care for the child, I don't see why they can't be given a chance.
