  • dude, the hfh name is a misnomer even by dimarzio's admission. its supposed to sound like a single coil.

  • this is the 4x10 right?

    looks tiny!! lol

    can it get pretty loud?

  • no, its a 1x12. yes it can get pretty loud.

  • so could you, if need be, get a hard rock/higher gain sound out of this amp? are there any pedals you recommend that would compliment this amp?

  • 2 ods with one acting as a boost to the other would get you there. in my current setup, ive got a ts808 as boost to a bb preamp. or maybe just get a distortion pedal, i've tried a bsiab2 and a crunchbox in front of the amp and it responds well to those pedals also. currently gassing for a small fry. heard nice reviews about that pedal.

  • Anyone knoes EMG suck. EMG is shit all day long whatever you do with them. put them deep in your asshole and keep them in there forever no one needs them anymore.

Then Dimebucker is crap. You suck!

  • the pickup sounds like a good single coil. dimarzio website gives accurate description about it.

and now, all LP fanboys who think that SCs are thin and too trebly, thumb me down!

  • @TheWorldWatches You probably are a metalhead, but GAIN is not the only opportunity you have. The humbucker is called that way because it can make your guitar litterally SCREAM (wich is something Brian May-alike), especially in the bridge position. In the neck it has the distinctive sound of a single coil with more output, but without cutting a lot of frequencies. EMG are totally different, they are suitable just for metal, and they're active. And I personally hate Dimebuckers :)

  • @GodofThunder4 Carl Martin Plexitone. That's all you'd need.

  • @JoshWhite66 he ment single coils i think

  • @Gel1ebtedesregens You meant to say SGs right?

  • emgs suck the life outta of your tone

  • I know it will strike some as perverse, but there are those of us who really enjoy hearing what a pickup sounds like without being completely distorted and fuzzed out. "Playin' guitar just like a'ringin' a bell," is hard to do when every note winds up sounding like the lead player from the high school metal band, "Laughing Cadaver."

  • Thanks so much for a demo that allows the pickup's basic character to shine through. It sounds great. Accolades to Dimarzio for making a sharp, ringing humbucker. Hey, good pickin' as well!

  • I had a lime green humbucker from hell in a 90s les paul... sold the guitar for tuition, kept the pickup. I absolutely cannot wait to put it in a new 6-string. I couldn't be happier with it.

  • cut the verb...nice tone from amp///
