  • Thanks for the nice comments. I love to teach with the bulky yarn, because it's so much easier for a beginner to control. Knitting is formidable when you first start, so one less thing to worry about is always good.

  • I have never knitted in my life. I bought my first pair of needles today!

I did it! I looked at a bunch of videos and yours really helped me a lot! THANKS! :):)

  • So glad they helped. Good luck with your knitting. I hope you have many hours of enjoyment.

  • THANK YOU, now i know how to do these right. I`ve seen another video by someone else but they didn`t explain at all so i had no idea. Now i`m getting real good at these long tail cast ons, thanks to you!!!

  • Thanks. So glad I could help.

  • Your video has been the easiest to follow so far after having watched several others. The slip know on the end seems to be the clue because the needle will hold the yarn in a V shape instead of having to rewind your fingers every time.

  • Good demo thanks. How do you work out how long a tail to use?

  • Thats not your ring finger. Its your pointer finger. Thanks for helping.

  • Thank you! Great job! I got it!

  • Thank you for doing this video! I'm just echoing what other people said - your video was the first one that made sense for me! I looked at a photo post of someone else's, and was directed to a video, but I wasn't seeing what the yarn around the thumb was doing at the end, which left me with something that didn't look right but I couldn't understand what was wrong. You captured the right angles and explained it clearly. The bulky yarn helps, too. :)

  • Hi there, yours was about the fourth video I found that explained the long tail cast on, and the only one where I could really see what was going on - I got it! I'm left handed and your instructions were really clear and helpful. Many thanks!

  • Thank you, this was clearly explained, simply done, repeated enough to sink in, disability has taken simple tasks and made them hard, your video was great.
