Dean remembers when he met his own worst enemy--himself, in demon form.
Present day, standing in front of Alastair, he remembers that day, and he realizes that is what he has become--he was torturing Alastair, for cryin' out loud! Going to hell changed him. He has a flashback [in grayscale] to when him and Bobby were talking about the demon Dean. Bobby wonders why Dean is so curious about it. Dean says it's possible, and he doesn't know what would happen if he became a demon. Then he's in the car with Sam, and tells him he doesn't wanna die, doesn't wanna go to hell. [Because he doesn't wanna become a demon.]

PRESENT DAY.

Dean, back from Hell. He wonders wtf about the hand imprinted on his arm. He goes to see Sam with Bobby, and he couldn't be more happy to see his brother. In his mind [grayscale] that's the greeting he imagined he was going to get. In reality, he nearly gets punched by his brother, because Sam can't believe Dean went to Hell, and became a demon. Dean stares at what he has become in the mirror, disgusted.
