  • film isn't projected at 24fps, it's captured at that rate. Old movies were even projected at 48fps

  • @Alandar565 modern film projectors run at 24fps. Maxivision was a 48fps system similar to Showscan (65mm projected at 60fps). They were used for short ride and simulator films, I can't imagine the cost of shoot a full feature in that format.

  • @MaxWeatherby no trust me they aren't projected in 24fps. If they were it would look like dick with that much flicker

  • @Alandar565 then what are they projected at?

"most movie projectors advance from one frame to the next one 24 times each second. But each frame is illuminated two or three times before the next frame is projected using a shutter in front of its lamp. As a result, the movie projector runs at 24 frames per second, but has a 48 or 72 Hz refresh rate"

    taken from wikipedia "refresh rate"

    Is that what you mean?

  • So it's like game lag?

  • @primordial27 yeah exactly

  • oh wow. almost makes you feel a bit sick, like I got a bit of a headache watching the stills.

  • nicely done..just shows how complex the visual cortex is and what the slightest damage to visual pathways can do

  • this is amazing!!!

  • Dr. Gruber, Stanford University, is doing a study on people with Moton Blindness (Akinetopsia). It involves a brief psychological test. A sum of $500 is provided to compensate them for their time..please call 510-654-9222
