In 1992 xavier mcdaniel still playing for the Knicks had his own signature basketball shoe by Xanthus. It is a part of sneaker history and an important one at that. This shoe represents the times, when everyone was rocking X hats, and a new generation connected to malcom x through a historic movie. This shoe which had two big "X''s on each side of the shoe was made very very well, with the uppers consisting of 100% genuine leather, and stitching that Nike could only dream of today.

@20lamario Hey sorry I sold these off a little while back. Theres actually a pair on eBay right now but its for a size 7.5. There was a low top version up in a size 12 last week not sure if its still up couldn't find them

@hushg2000 Are you from the West Coast? I'm Seattle born and raised, and when you said Woolworth's, that made me think West. So, as you can guess, I grew up watching Xavier McDaniel. I remember in 1998 or so, seeing a customer buying these Xavier McDaniel shoes at Chubby and Tubby. Now, I STOCKED UP on Shaq Dunkman shoes at Payless Shoe Source. Some still unworn. I'm 38. Can I get away with Shaqs for a few years, since he has more cache in the league?

There are a few companies named Xanthus but the sneaker Xanthus was only the BRAND name.

Xanthus was copyrighted under the company name: JF WORLD INC... it's on the Hangtag.

They kept the original art but I have 7 large format 4 x 6 transparencies of (whole) sneaker drawings that I did for the hangtags. I have 4 printed hangtag samples... without the sneakers of course.
