  • Joel Paterson is a very gifted guitar and steel player.....saw him first on Deke Dickerson Festival DVD......love his style.....keep up the good work.....very refreshing to hear this kind of music these days.....rhythm section awesome also.....

  • That's stunning. That melody is perfect for the steel. Soon as I saw the title I was expecting some guy on a Macafferri.

  • Joel doesn't play that much pedal steel anymore, so these loud-talking people don't know how lucky they are! to hear real jazz at the corner bar in their neighborhood!

  • Remember that Hendrix had to go to France to be recognized as the musical genius that he was.

  • @signjay From the perspective of an American living in Paris, I can attest to the truth in your statements. I can also attest to the unfortunate fact that American culture is (gradually ?) becoming the dominate global culture which values zero-attention-span hyper-stimulation over artistic content.

  • Some people ask me "Why don't you play out more often?" It's because of geeks like these audience members who are a generation or two removed from the concept of manners in a classy musical setting. You have to go to Europe to find audiences who are polite. Even the stereotypically rude French are much more well behaved when there's good music around. And, of course "Nuages" is like the second national anthem in Paris. Thanks for posting this . Wish the beer swillers would shut up!

  • This video illustrates perfectly why I think most people SUCK. How do you get lucky enough to see playing like that , probably for free . . . Lord knows the band didn't make any money . . . and talk over it.

The playing wa sublime though . . . which gives me some hope for humanity . . . now how much were those tickets to Chicago?

  • Some audiences wouldn't know talent if it bit them in the ass. Jeez that talking is annoying!

I just saw these guys at the Deke Dickerson guitar fest in Anaheim, and I instantly became a huge fan - talent & versatility in spades. Glad they had a chance to do their stuff for an appreciative crowd.

  • You are TOO right , sir.. kinda pathetic, that musicians of this caliber are forced to play in such joints where there is so much blabbin' away goin' on. The crowd should be dead silent for a band like this. Oh Well..

  • Sure audience! Talk away! Humph!.......Pearls before swine.
