Young right-hander Justin Masterson will take the hill in the Saturday national TV game against the Yankees. This will be his first starts against the NY Yankees. He took the loss in the opener against Tampa lasting 6 innings and giving up 4 earned runs in the loss. Masterson has been better at home as he sits with an ERA about 1 ½ runs higher away from Fenway Park. Mike Mussina is pitching well for the pinstripers as he's given up 3 earned runs or less in 11 of his last 13 starts. Mussina had great control this season sitting with a strikeout to walk ratio of just under 4-1. The Yankee bats came alive in June as they hit .282 for the month.
