This is a visual aid to go along with the song that tells the old Norse story.

lyrics:

[Hermod:]
Ride Sleipner
Ride for all you're worth
Faster then lightning,
To the dark realms of the world

Through valleys of darkness
On our way to Nifelheim
To the halls of Hel
Where my brother waits

Wailing voices on the wind
Urging me to turn
Distant tortured screams
Cold blue fires burn

I hear the sound of river Gjoll
Running cold and deep
It's a golden bridge shines in the dark
The bridge that Modgud keeps

Over the bridge, on through the night
Hel is getting near
There are the gates, towering high
Afflicting me with fear

In her hall, at the honor seat
My brother sits in pain
Pale and tortured Balder greats
Bound by invisible frozen chains

[Hermod:]
I have come, to bring him back with me
The whole world mourns his death!
Please set Balder free
Give him back his breath!

[Hel:]
If it's true, what you say to me
That the whole world mourns his death.
If the whole world will weep I'll give him back his breath!

  • It's spelled, "Loki" not "Loke..."

  • @FuzzyFishling Wrong.

  • Hey you should deffinately do a video like this for Toks taunt (Lokes Treachery part 2) when it comes out. this video has me excited to see what happens next in the story. and urs is by far my favorite one of this song

  • @TheAmishwarrior Thank you! I would love to do a sequel video for the second song, but sadly I don't think it would work out as well. As a normal Amon Amarth song, Tock's Taunt is excellent, but it does not provide a progressive story as Part I does. I was a little disappointed by how generic Loke's Treachery Part II is, but if I ever do get any good ideas for the sequel video I will be sure to make one.

  • Too bad you disabled ratings for this video, buddy. I wish I could give this video thumbs up. I hope you will make some more videos like this.

  • @HPHP2 Thanks man, I'm thinking about re-enabling them but I fear that my other video will attract a bunch of musically challenged morons who will thumb this down just because it's heavier than your typical Mariah Carey.

I would like to do another video like this though. It was fun putting together, I've just been busy with college and stuff lately.

  • @FuzzyFishling Loke is the German spelling fool. Not all Asatru are Swedish (I am a German Asatru).

  • @FuzzyFishling In Sweden Loki is spelled Loke , so non of it is spelled wrong . . :) .

  • with this song i feel like if the ragnarok its close poor blader jajaja

  • @FuzzyFishling in switzerland the pronunciation is lokes dude

  • The version of Hel is a bit off too, but its all open to interpretation and nothings completely set in stone other than her half alive/half dead status, but usually she's depicted as a gorgeous woman not a hag, but the christians destroyed what little there was of their art, culture & myths so there's not much left.

  • @flamefightr0 well its less firey modern hell & more just bleak, flicker of the true world hell..Where Death Seems to Dwell goes into what Niflheim's like, or at least the outskirts, read the myths for hearing about Hel's inner sanctum where she holds Baldur, all the denizens are these hollow shades that you can't discern all the way when looked straight on. its just a pretty weak place. infinite battles and booze in valhalla is much more preferable, hence the vikings being badasses

  • THE WHOLE WORLD WEEPS OVER HIM.

Well, guess who didn't weep? Tock!!!!! (see part 2) =]

  • isnt hel freezing?i could of sworn it is but in part 2 it says 'let his soul forever burn' and when the song mentions hel thers a picture of a fiery hall
