West Papua Highlands: Sounds of Freedom

The voices of the Papuan people I filmed want you to see this and tell everyone you know. Some of them are no longer with us........Music can always be heard in the Highlands of West Papua, these incredible musicians, singers, human rights activists, freedom fighters, friends will take you to their mountain homes, gardens & sounds. The beauty of this part of West Papua, like many others, has been tainted with the occupation of this land by Indonesia. This beautiful place, these very villages I filmed, have since been attacked, burnt and destroyed by Indonesian military, in 2010 and now in July 2011. Unfortunately some of the incredibly brave Women, Men and Children in this film have been killed by Indonesian soldiers since they spoke to me and sang their hearts out on camera. No journalists, human rights observers or medical aid can get through to West Papua, so this is why you don't hear about this in the international media....I'd like to dedicate this film to all the incredibly brave and defiant people I met who shared their homes, stories, sweet potatoes and their struggle for Freedom with me, and now with all of you who watch this.... please pass this on.... and on and on, keep telling people about the West Papuans Freedom movement. It can't be kept a secret for any longer. PAPUA MERDEKA!

when the corperate US mining companies and Indo's greed deminishes only then will and external scorce and West Papua people with world backing will prevail. God save West Papua and the original people of the land. US corperate mining companies with Indo's millitary with feel a force greater than its own.
