It's 3 weeks and another shell after the shunt at Oulton. Didn't go quite to plan but I did finish!

  • Dude cant drive, learn to exit a corner with speed.

  • @piecartbox

Haha dude, when you have won about 50 races, 4 championships and held 16 lap records you can give me some lessons ;)

  • Hi Simon, am i correct in saying you have a 24valve cosworth engined capri? I think i saw a pic in classic ford mag.Only i am doing the same conversion, so any tips would be much appreciated, cheers, Alan.

  • I do, it will also be in Retro Ford, should be out beginning of Jan.

  • Great to see some Slick 50 action. I competed in 92,93,94 and 95 in a 3.0 s capri. Great fun, just what motorsport should be. Still go out in Classic Group One with a three litre occasionally. Cheers, Alan.

  • Hi Alan Yes it was always a lot of fun, i guess Gp1 is the nearest to it nowadays. I just missed you then as I did Slick 50 from 87-91, moving on to the Supers after winning the championship in 91. Cheers Simon

  • So nice to see the rover and ford battling it out, i have both cars in the garage a privelage to own but i am sure even more fun to drive them the way you drove your capri.

  • wow, that must have been so adrenaline rushing...i wish i could do that lol

  • Flipping heck!! A blast from the past... Me and my dad were standing between McLeans and Coppice! Time flies... Gread vid!

  • Cheers, yes I've pushed a few SD1's off the line aswell..hehe.

Watch this space more to follow very soon.

  • Fantastic to see this. When I was marshalling, the Slick 50s were always my favourites. Except trying to push-start SD1s off the line at Snetterton. Despite appearances, Snett's not flat. Seen the Oulton one too.Have you got any more?
