Christmas 2007 piano music demo video. Uncut version of the actual solo. Piano is synchronized with the audio track of the synthesizer. Only one camera was used. "What you hear is NOT what you get!" And, this is synchronization. Deck the Halls is demonstrated on Bergman grand piano. But, the sound you hear is coming from a yahmaha synthesizer.
The arrangement was recorded on a Yamaha synthesizer with an accompaniment rhythm background. Then the Yamaha track was recorded direct onto cd via a inexpensive sound board for balance, after which the cd was played on a boombox with Jazz concert mix and transferred into the computer for use in a video editing program. OK, that's the audio track.
To record the video the camera was started and the arrangement was played simultaneously with the yahmaha synthesizer. Note: This will not work with improvisation unless the same exact notes are played on the piano as on the synthesizer. The arrangement, memorized, was used.
After transferring the video into the computer, the video audio track is used only to line up the audio track from the synthesizer. After this, the video track is muted. "Wahla!" Synchronization!
The trick to all of this is (1) in singing or playing exactly the same notes as they were recorded. and, (2)matching the audio with video/audio in the editing process, then muting the audio track of the video.
So much for synchronization.
