Yoshi is usually allowed out of his cage while we are home...but sometimes he likes to explore the kitchen floor. Fortunately he knows to go back to his cage when we ask him to. This is also an example of how he learns his words and phrases too. He will tend to repeat what he is doing or what I say so he can later say those things in context.

  • Thanks for all the comments! Yoshi hatched in 2003 and will actually be 7 years old on April Fools' Day (go figure) :)

His cage is the standard size you would get for a cockatiel

  • Ha ha ha that was so funny he said poopy

  • your bird is AMAZING!!!!

does he already know those words or is he making them up as he go's?

  • My bird Waffle loves watching Yoshi videos. I was wondering if you would mind making a few more. Waffle would LOVE to see more Yoshi videos!!

  • man he tells you if he needs to go cool!

  • And pound for pound, you can't get another bird this size, that exhibits these endearing traits. And of course, lets not forget there vocal abiliity, which still amazes me, how clear it sounds for a bird this size.

  • This is BRILLIANT, much less the cutest thing i've seen, in a while. After my near 20+years, of owning "various" species of parrots, your bird takes the cake HANDS DOWN..!!! Considering i'm getting a Quaker myself very soon, and work from home, seeing these Quaker videos, is making me VERY excited to finally work with one of these birds. They really are a "small treasure", in the way they bond with there owners. Much less, exhibit there larger Macaw cousins "traits" & "personality".

  • how did you show him to go poopy

  • ANy of you who want to know how to get your quaker parrot to talk like cosmo(mine) or yoshi. You have to take them out ALL the time for hours each day and feed them very good and nutrious food also give them treats from your hand like nutriberrys, mango, papaya, and grapes.A very important factor is talk to them even if they dont talk back and stroke their neck alot(they love this) all of this forms the bond with your quaker parrots and then they copy what you say, beacause they want to please you.

  • MY quaker parrot talks just like that exept he only says "go poopy" when he goes but he says everything else ive seen in your vids. It is not easy to train them to talk like that i admit.Ill upload a vid of my quaker talking(cosmo) so you all can see.and yes i do have vids off my abbs and how i got them i also have fishing vids too. When you want to see all of my vids type in my username in the search bar.I also show how to do my karate and taekwondo.thanx all.

  • you: "go in your cage" yoshie: "go in your cage" you: "go poopy" yoshie: go poopy" you: go on my shoulder yoshie "go on my shoulder!

    soooooo cute!!!
