  • transmits data 10 Gb/s damn that's fast. and soon to improve to 40 Gb/s and plans eventually get to 100 Gb/s. I wonder when the consumer will get these speeds.

  • @waypasthadenough Satellite internet access is much much slower than cable, (for now). Satellites are also affected by atmospheric conditions such as clouds, rain or high levels of dust. So for the time being, laying cables is faster and cheaper than launching satellites. Search Wikipedia for "Satellite Internet Access" for more info.

  • For some reason this reminds me of FF7 with all the Mako pipes. Really cool.

  • @pun068lovesyou I meant 'Ultra High Definition' (8k), sorry.

  • @pun068lovesyou 50mbs is not bad. I even think 1Gb/s for normal users is too much although Japan is already preparing super high definition (8k) and that's maybe the reason.

  • @ItsBestTechnology in uk, maximum speed for public consumers is 50mbs, but most end up with 2mbs as its cheap..

  • @chau2k5 In Tokyo there is internet connections reaching up to 1Gb/s already.

  • @waypasthadenough No, signal degredation is bigger with satellites as is lagtime , a wired cable will be faster and more reliable in most cases. Plus putting satellites in orbit is very expensive.

  • Go Japan!

  • @chau2k5 never its for connecting continents not normal consumers

  • @chau2k5 @chau2k5 These speeds are less considering that these will be distributed among large number of people,

Consumer can only get such speed if the consumer installs one whole system for his own use.
