Bob was kind enough to give me a couple of bottles of this blueberry-flavored beer called "Wild Blue." I heard it was a unique color, so I decided to share the initial pour with you all.

Anheuser-Busch distributes this through its "Blue Dawg" label. It is intended to be a unique brew, and it is unique, although it feels like they're trying to land in the realm of lambics while not actually being a lambic.

The color is purple, as you can see.

The head foams up quickly and then dies down. I could not pour the whole thing into a Sam Adams glass.

The aroma is fruity and yeasty, promising lambic-y goodness.

However, the flavor is fruit-juicy and alcoholic rather than sour and yeasty, like a lambic. It's not very beery.

I credit the creators with coming on strong with a unique brew, but I don't think it's my taste and I can't readily categorize it in existing beer styles. At 8% alcohol, it's also not a light beer by any stretch of the imagination. It's something new, but it made me crave framboise.

It's different enough that it's tough to say whether people would like it, but I feel it is not my taste.
